A simple outlook on real estate pricing in East Austin is to look at the proximity of the real estate to I35 or specifically downtown. The closer it is the pricier it gets. If you’d like to bike into downtown be willing to pay more for a location that allows you to do so. The further out you are willing to go the more house you’ll get for the money.
Any area of the eastside is still relatively close to downtown by car. The city has also recently begun a light rail service running through the eastside that will provide transportation into downtown without the use of a car. The city also has an extensive bus system that can be used to get to the light rail stations or to go downtown without the use of a car.
